Lana + Rob City Hall Wedding

Lana had a chosen a beautiful icy pastel shade of blue to be the colour for her wedding.

She and Rob were so in love and had eloped in Bali, but they wanted to celebrate their happiness with their friends and family. They knew it was going to be a very intimate celebration and had decided that they would travel back to the US to have the wedding in Rob’s home town of San Francisco. After scouting for venues they fell in love with the iconic San Francisco City Hall.

Lana talks about her princess moment “I chose a full Vera Wang gown, which I would have never imagined wearing as it is not at all my style. But the second I put the dress on a year earlier in the San Francisco flagship store, I knew it was the perfect dress to marry the man of my dreams and the love of my life. The dress waited in the store for me till we arrive to San Francisco a week before the wedding. My first fitting was literally 3 days before the big day, followed by daily fittings.”

Lana is from London and Rob is from California, so when he proposed, San Francisco was an obvious choice because they fell in love with the magnificent City Hall. It was a dream come true to get married in this glorious venue. The couple reserved one of the wings on the top floor of City Hall for their ceremony, which is a beautifully lit and magnificent space.They had travelled from half way around the world to get married beneath the golden tones and grand architecture of City Hall, which offered such an extraordinary environment for their celebration. With their closest family and friends looking on, the couple exchanged their vows on the balcony overlooking all of City Hall. A 16 hour direct flight and a 12 hour time difference apart, this was a perfect choice because of the grandiosity that it offers.

After the ceremony, the couple took their photographs beneath the stunning ionic columns of this landmark.

Lana, recalls the highlights of the day, “After the ceremony and some champagne, hire two limousines to take us and our 45 guests all over the landmarks of this beautiful city. Almost half of our guests flew to the States from all over the world – London, Australia, Dubai, Sweden to name a few… So we thought we should have a tour of some of the most gorgeous places we could think of. Legion of Honor and Baker Beach offered stunning backdrops for photographs.”

“For our reception and party, we chose Ritz Carlton in San Francisco, which complemented the day and the dress and the look and feel of the whole wedding perfectly. We dressed this already incredibly venue in sky blue silk linens to make it personal to us. They were amazing to work with. It is important to note that I have not visited San Francisco for a year before our wedding, and all of the planning was done online including all beauty appointments – all our wonderful vendors were so responsive and understanding, and it was so easy to select the team through websites, reviews and recommendations. I couldn’t dream of a better team of vendors. Everything came together so perfectly on the actual day, having arrived in the country less than a week before the wedding. I am convinced it was our reliable and professional team that ensured that the vision Rob and I had was execution to perfection.”
