Colonial Styled shoot

Walking up the shaded alleys created by the giant palm trees in antique wooden crates, we were inspired by the lush greenery of the tropics. The result was a recreation of a magical Colonial plantation styled shoot in the midst of the desert at Wahat Al Sahraa nurseries, Dubai.

The reception and cocktail table were dressed in natural materials. Sticking to traditional formal dark wood furniture, the setups have been adapted and inspired by the tropics. Mismatched furniture from natural materials like elegantly carved solid mahogany wood, rattan, bamboo and cane allowed for a sophisticated colour palette featuring black, chocolate brown, stone/taupe, grey, white and sage green

Decorative accessories inspired by the spirit of conquests are a mix of classic fine china, crystals and tropical accents. Brass and silver provide a subtle sense of tradition, style and history.

The floral arrangements were meant to reflect the colonies’ abundant produce, rich in greenery and exotic flowers and fruits. Three varieties of Fritillaria, Gloriosa, Strelitzia accompanied by Berzelia, Ananas, (ornamental pineapples) Asparagus, tropical ferns and prominent palm leaves became part of centerpieces and were featured in the bride’s bouquet. Arrangements were showcased in urns and metallic vases.
